October 2024 From October 3rd to 18th, 2024, Hubert and Johanna traveled to Namibia on behalf of SEGENA e.V. to celebrate key milestones and strengthen collaboration on-site. The primary focus of their visit was the official handover of two newly installed hydroponic systems at schools in Pionierspark and the Open Doors Education Center (ODEC). These projects are part of SEGENA’s ongoing commitment to promoting education and resource-efficient agriculture in local communities.
The hydroponic systems were enthusiastically received by the schools, offering students a hands-on, sustainable method of food production. Both systems were officially handed over to the schools and are now fully operational. These new resources will not only improve food security but also help strengthen the self-sufficiency and resilience of the school communities in the long term.
In addition to the handovers, Huber and Johanna used the opportunity to engage in critical networking efforts. They met with partner organizations, schools, and local initiatives to discuss future collaborations and expand SEGENA’s network in Namibia. This trip was a great success and marks another significant step in our mission to promote sustainable education and resource-efficient agricultural practices in Namibia.
We look forward to building on the success of this visit and extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved for their invaluable support!
