In a country where every drop counts, the development of strategies for improving water security is of central importance.
In the joint project Multifunctional Strategies for Resilient Water Security in the Eastern Erongo Region (MultiReWaS), funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), we have made our contribution under the leadership of the Brandenburg-based KMU TERRA URBANA and in cooperation with the Aachen-based Research Institute for Water Management and Climate Future (FiW) and the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST).
Through our contacts and good networking on the ground, we have supported the project in stakeholder dialogue, participatory involvement of affected actors, and with the experience of region-specific characteristics. Together, an extensive implementation concept for water treatment and improvement of water efficiency for the community of Karibib in the Erongo region, identified in the project, could be developed within the project duration. Working with the entire MultiReWaS consortium and all involved actors has been a great pleasure, and we are excited about the potential implementation of the MultiReWaS concept.
